Update of IT modernization Project

The latest position of implementation is as follows: 

• Primary Data Centre has been deployed and started functioning at Navi Mumbai since 3rd April, 2013. Disaster Recovery Centre has been powered on at Mysore on 15-05-15. System Integrators have started commissioning process.
• 27647 Departmental Post offices including mail offices and administrative offices have been networked at single Wide Area Network (WAN) and connected to Data Centre.
• Core Banking Solution (CBS) has been rolled out in 3416 Post Offices including 800 HOs.
• ATMs have been installed in 123 locations.
• Core Insurance solution (CIS-PLI) has been rolled out in 13976 Post Offices.
• Rural Hardware vendor has been finalized and contract has been signed. Supply of Rural Hardware devices in Pilot BOs will start in November 2015.

Common Infrastructure Solutions (Wave 1) roll out is under progress.

• Installation of Antivirus (AV) completed in 18700 locations.
• Installation of Active Directory (AD) is in progress and deployed in 15800 locations.

User Acceptance Test (UAT) for Wave 2 & 3 solutions along with CSI-FSI Integration is completed.

• Pilot rollout is scheduled from 31st Sep 2015.
• CSI trainings have been completed for pre pilot locations.

Rural System Integrator (RSI) is kicked off on 5th May 2015.

• Software Requirements Specification (SRS) has been approved.
• UAT is planned in Nov 2015.

Procurement planned through DGS&D includes

• Handheld devices for mail delivery in post offices.
• Hardware for processing of mails in sorting offices.
